Humanitarian mission for Donbass: Ambulance purchased

Dear friends, I am Enrique, coordinator of projects in the humanitarian organization based in Spain, «Vostok Solidaridad Donbass», and I bring you good news, although they are not completely good.

Firstly, Román, president of the humanitarian organization also based in Spain, «Blagoe Delo», informs us that he has already bought the ambulance! These are the good news, since it seemed a very complicated task, but with a lot of effort, the ambulance was bought.

However, the bad news comes next. If we add the price of the ambulance (€ 3,900) plus the cost of bringing it from Galicia to Madrid (€ 200), we have a total cost of € 4,100. While the total donations add an income of € 3,132. That is to say, there is still almost € 1,000 of debt. And this, without counting the expenses to come: Mechanical review with which to prepare the ambulance for a trip of 5,000 km to Donbass, and the expenses of the trip itself.

So far, we can only give thanks wholeheartedly all of the donations that we have received until now in both humanitarian organizations, but there is still a long way to go to fully pay for the ambulance, prepare it for the trip, and drive it to the city of Donetsk.

We also have to give thanks wholeheartedly for the donations of medical supplies received so far, since this project is not only to carry the ambulance, but also to carry it full of medical supplies for hospitals in Donbass. Everything we have until now can be seen in the photographs that accompany this review: Two stretchers, a wheelchair, medicines and material to heal wounds, a resuscitation team, as well as computers.

In short, we have the ambulance, we have medical supplies to carry inside the ambulance, but the bad part is that we have many expenses to cover currently, and many more expenses in the future to prepare the trip. We need donations to be able to drive the ambulance and all the medical supplies and equipment to Donbass and there, they will serve to help those people most in need, since during 3 years they have been living under an imposed war. Unfortunately, not a single day go by without the war being noticed.

Misión humanitaria para Donbass: Ambulancia comprada

Estimados amigos, soy Enrique, coordinador de proyectos de la organización humanitaria radicada en España, «Vostok Solidaridad Donbass», y les traigo buenas noticias, aunque no son lo suficientemente buenas del todo. 

En primer lugar, Román, presidente de la organización humanitaria también radicada en España, «Blagoe Delo», nos informa que ¡ya ha comprado la ambulancia! He ahí la buena noticia, puesto que parecía una tarea muy complicada, pero con muchísimos esfuerzos la consiguió comprar. 

Sin embargo, vienen a continuación las malas noticias. Si sumamos el precio de la ambulancia (3.900 €) más el coste de traerla desde Galicia a Madrid (200 €), tenemos un total de gastos de 4.100 €. Mientras que el total de donaciones suman unos ingresos de 3.132 €. Es decir, todavía hay casi 1.000 € de deuda. Y ello sin contar los gastos por venir: Revisión mecánica con la que preparar la ambulancia para un viaje de 5.000 km hasta Donbass, y los gastos del propio viaje.

Hasta aquí, solo podemos agradecer de corazón todas las donaciones que hemos recibido hasta ahora en ambas organizaciones humanitarias, pero aún falta mucho para que podamos pagar completamente la ambulancia, prepararla para el viaje, y conducirla hasta la ciudad de Donetsk.

También hemos de agradecer de corazón las donaciones de material médico que se recibieron hasta ahora, ya que este proyecto no solo consiste en llevar simplemente la ambulancia, sino también en llevarla repleta de material médico para hospitales de Donbass. Todo lo que tenemos hasta ahora lo pueden ver en las fotografías que acompañan esta reseña: Dos camillas, una silla de ruedas, medicinas y material para curar heridas, un equipo de reanimación, así como ordenadores. 

En definitiva, tenemos la ambulancia, tenemos material médico para llevar en la ambulancia, pero la parte mala es que tenemos muchos gastos que cubrir actualmente, y muchos más gastos en el futuro para preparar el viaje. Necesitamos donaciones para poder trasladar la ambulancia y todo el material médico hasta Donbass y que allí sirva para ayudar a los más necesitados, pues desde hace 3 años viven bajo una guerra impuesta. Por desgracia, allí no pasa un día sin que la guerra se haga notar.

Гуманитарная миссия: купить «Скорую помощь» для отправки на Донбасс.

Наша гуманитарная организация «Восток Солидарность Донбасс» поддерживает кампанию, проводимую гуманитарной организацией из Испании «Благое дело», целью которой, является приобретение машины скорой помощи.

Здесь мы публикуем подробности предоставленные Романом, который является президентом организации «Благое дело». В прошлом, Роман сумел отправить воздушным транспортом до 6 000 килограммов гуманитарной помощи и даже совершил поездку из Мадрида в Луганск- маршрут, который составил более 5000 километров туда и обратно чтобы доставить гуманитарный груз на Донбасс.

По данной миссии, Роман сообщает, что он почти добился покупки скорой помощи, так как они уже нашли 2500 евро. Покупка машины скорой помощи почти свершилась, но не хватает достаточной суммы денег чтобы ее купить. При покупке данной машины и ее последующей отправки на Донбасс, также будет отправлено несколько протезов, реанимационное оборудование, лекарства, а также компьютеры для доставки в детские дома и школы. В собираемой сумме не учитываются расходы на саму поездку из Испании в Донбасс, ни расходы на различные проверки и документы.

Поэтому мы оказываем полную поддержку данной компании и присоединяемся к гуманитарной миссии чтобы еще раз оказать всю ту помощь, которую мы можем предоставить людям, проживающим в этом регионе и которые уже в течение 3 лет страдают от войны. Регион, который уже не является первой новостью для мировых СМИ, но где происходят ежедневные бои с применением артиллерии, танков и снайперов.

Humanitarian Mission: Buy an ambulance for Donbass

From our humanitarian organization Vostok Solidaridad Donbass, we are supporting the very appropiate campaign that it is carrying out the humanitarian organization also based in Spain, Blagoe Delo; whose objective in this occasion is in the purchase of an ambulance.

We write here the details provided by Roman, president of Blagoe Delo, who in past occasions have managed to send up to 6,000 kilograms of humanitarian aid by airlift and even, on a previous occasion, he made, alone, a road trip from Madrid to Lugansk on a route of more than 5,000 kilometres up to there and again other 5,000 kilometres back to Spain, in order to carry out a delivery of humanitarian material in several cities of Donbass.

On this occasion, Roman reports that he has almost achieved the purchase of the ambulance since up to now they have collected 2,500 euros. The purchase is almost done, because he has found a good ambulance but still lacks money to buy it. In addition, they have several prostheses, a reanimation team, medicines, as well as computers to deliver in orphanages and schools in Donbass. And that without counting the expenses in reviews, document procedures and, of course, the trip from Spain to Donbass.

Therefore, we join and support this impressive humanitarian campaign to carry out another mission with which to carry all the help we can provide for people who have been suffering the war in that region for 3 years. A region that now is not news of the mass media, but daily combats continue... artillery, snipers, tanks...

Misión humanitaria: Comprar una ambulancia para Donbass

Desde nuestra organización humanitaria Vostok Solidaridad Donbass, estamos apoyando la muy acertada campaña que está realizando la organización humanitaria radicada también en España, Blagoe Delo; cuyo objetivo en esta ocasión se halla en la compra de una ambulancia.

Les escribimos aquí los detalles que aporta Román, presidente de Blagoe Delo, que en ocasiones pasadas han conseguido enviar hasta 6.000 kilos en ayuda humanitaria por puente aéreo e incluso, en una ocasión anterior, realizó él, en solitario, un viaje por carretera desde Madrid a Lugansk en una ruta superior a 5.000 kilómetros de ida, y otros tantos de vuelta para realizar una entrega de material humanitario en varias ciudades de Donbass. 

En esta ocasión, Román informa que tiene casi lograda la compra de la ambulancia puesto que hasta ahora llevan recaudados 2.500 euros. La compra está casi realizada, ya que ha encontrado una buena ambulancia pero todavía les falta dinero para comprarla. Además, tienen varias prótesis, un equipo de reanimación, medicamentos, así como ordenadores para entregar en orfanatos y colegios de Donbass. Y eso sin contar con los gastos en revisiones, gestiones de documentos y por supuesto, el viaje desde España hasta Donbass.

Por ello, nos sumamos y apoyamos esta impresionante campaña humanitaria para realizar otra misión con la cual llevar toda la ayuda que podemos aportar para las personas que llevan 3 años sufriendo la guerra en aquella región. Una región que ahora no es noticia en los grandes medios de comunicación, pero a diario continúan los combates... artillería, francotiradores, tanques...

Finalmente, les pedimos que compartan esta noticia y el cartel que tienen justo debajo. Y si pueden, por favor, ayuden en esta misión humanitaria. Toda ayuda es muy importante.

Bienvenidos a Zaitsevo [vídeo-documental]

Les presentamos el vídeo-documental con nuestro viaje humanitario conjunto, realizado el día 9 de mayo de 2017 por las organizaciones humanitarias: «Ouest-Est» desde Francia, y «Vostok Solidaridad Donbass» desde España. 

Partimos desde la gran ciudad de Donetsk, y tomando la dirección nor-este, nos desplazamos hacia nuestro objetivo, que era la aldea de Zaitsevo, aledaña a la ciudad de Gorlovka. Zaitsevo se encuentra en primera línea del frente, donde más combates tienen lugar y menos ayuda llega por las escasas vías de comunicación y la peligrosidad de su ubicación. Es más, durante nuestra misión humanitaria, escuchábamos disparos y exposiones de artillería por todo el entorno.

Así mismo, la entrada desde Gorlovka a Zaitsevo es una pequeña carretera cuyo campo aledaño a ambos lados está señalado por unos carteles como campo minado; y en tales carteles indican que no se debe salir del camino.

Con todo, el 9 de mayo conseguimos llegar allí con el objetivo de entregar una flor y mil rublos a cada uno de los ancianos-veteranos que allá viven todavía, que se resisten a dejar sus hogares a pesar de la terrible situación, a la que se suman los frecuentes cortes de luz, agua, y gas. Y además, pudimos ver una casa totalmente arrasada junto a otras viviendas, las cuales incluso carecían de cristal en las ventanas (fruto de las explosiones cercanas).

Tras esta misión humanitaria, lo que pudimos constatar fue la sorpresa y alegría de los ancianos, ya que les parecía increíble que en un día tan simbólico como el 9 de mayo lo es allí, un francés y un español les llevaran ese detalle y esa ayuda, una flor y mil rublos.

Nos quedamos, sin duda, con el mensaje de todos ellos, un mensaje que les era común: Otra vez la guerra, otra vez todo igual (como en su juventud). Y también, nos quedamos con una conclusión común a todos ellos: "Solo queremos paz".

 

Ayuda para Donbass

Desde Vostok Solidaridad Donbass nos unimos a esta campaña solidaria con la que aunar esfuerzos para ayudar en todo lo posible a los que más sufren la guerra en Donbass.

En esta ocasión, esta ayuda consiste en la compra de material escolar con la que «la vuelta al cole» de los niños de Donbass sea la mejor posible, ya que carecen del material que en España se considera básico, pero allí las carencias por la guerra hacen que sean lujos.

Первая гуманитарная поездка на Донбасс

Между 9 и 10 мая, Гуманитарные организации «Восток Солидаридад Донбасс» из Испании и «Оуьест-Эст» из Франции, совместно осуществили гуманитарную миссию в зону военных действий на Донбассе, в частности, в г. Донецк и несколько близлежащих поселков и деревень. При прибытии в Донецк, наше первое впечатление было такое: мы находились в абсолютно нормальном городе, с открытыми магазинами и многочисленными прохожими на улицах. В общем, обычная жизнь города, с населением более 1 миллиона человек. Уже отдалившись на несколько километров от города, картина полностью изменилась- все постройки и здания были повреждены или разрушены, баррикады и блокгаузы охраняли военные. 

Так, как мы очень спешили и у нас не было ни одной свободной секунды для посещения центра города, мы решили начать нашу первую миссию от самой линии фронта, от маленького поселка Зайцево, который прилегает к Горловке и расположен в 50 км к северу от города Донецка. Там, из-за постоянных артиллерийских атак (а мы слышали очень частые разрывы снарядов), нас ожидал самый опасный участок, который находится в нескольких метрах от боевых действий, окруженный предупреждающими знаками о минах для тех, кто осмелился бы сойти с разминированной и безопасной дороги. Следует отметить, что как в России так и на Украине- 9 мая не совсем обычный день. Именно в этот день, эти страны отмечают День Победы- день окончания Великой Отечественной войны, которая навсегда осталась в памяти русских, украинцев и многих других народов бывшего Советского Союза. Победа в войне, которую многие называют Священной и которая принесла 27 миллионов смертей. Большинство семей бывшего Советского Союза имеют, как минимум, одного погибшего родственника в этой войне.

Итак, следуя местной традиции, в день 9 мая мы посетили ветеранов, которые не только пережили ту давнюю войну, но к сожалению, как и в юности, вновь оказались на первой линии огня. На самом деле, мы представляли нашу акцию как какую-то процедуру, так как наши действия состояли всего-лишь из трех частей: дарить цветы, поздравлять и пожертвовать каждому ветерану по тысячу рублей- просто и празднично. Но вскоре нам стало ясно, что суровая действительность превзошла все наши расчеты и прогнозы.

На снимках вы можете увидеть некоторых ветеранов, которых мы посетили. 

С каждым нашим посещением того или иного ветерана, нам становилось ясно то тяжелое положение в котором они пребывают, особенно самые пожилые и одинокие. Иногда мы встречали ветеранов которых сопровождали несколько родственников. Из-за военных действий и ввиду множественных повреждений, дома ветеранов находятся без электричества, воды и газа. Кроме того, ввиду своего возраста, большинство пожилых людей нуждаются в различных медикаментах: они ограничены в передвижении и страдают различными заболеваниями. Для этих целей, мы передали тысячу рублей на медицинские расходы каждому кого посетили. Эта совсем небольшая помощь, но она необходима потому, что с теми скудными пенсиями которые даже и не всегда выплачиваются (Украина во всем регионе ввела экономическую блокаду) невозможно купить лекарства и продукты питания и поэтому в зоне боевых действий пенсионеры не живут, а выживают.

Каждый ветеран, которого мы посетили- это наша грустная и счастливая история: грустная из-за того, что было видно те условия, как и где они жили, а счастливая потому, что мы видели, как они улыбались и плакали ибо им казалось, совершенно удивительным то, что в этот день и в этом месте, их навестили из далекой Испании и Франции и все для того чтобы подарить им цветы и оказать им небольшую финансовую помощь. И хотя кому-то наш поступок, (который вряд-ли сможет как-то повлиять или изменить этот страшный военный сценарий) может показаться незначительным или несущественным, для нас он имеет большое значение и не только для нас, но и для тех, кого мы посетили. Это не клише и не сентиментальность- наши сердца разбиты после увиденной нами ужасающей ситуации и, в тоже время, такой искренней благодарности от стариков за то, что мы сделали.

После окончания наших поздравлений, мы поехали в школу пос. Зайцево. На самом деле, сегодня это не школа, а передовая позиция военных ДНР, которые разрешили нам посетить траншею, каких в этой войне довольно много вырыто по обе стороны фронта. Когда мы спустились в траншею, нас не покидала мысль, что мы, в этот самый момент находимся в Европе: и вот- сидим в окопе, на очередной войне, развязанной одними и теми же лидерами стран США и ЕС, которые всегда говорят о мире и правах человека, но на самом деле только заботиться о своем бизнесе, и война- это их самое прибыльное предприятие.

На этих изображениях можно увидеть советский памятник и школу. На нижнем левом снимке можно увидеть знак, предупреждающий о заминированном поле, а на следующем- въезд в Горловку.

Окончился наш день в одном из магазинов Донецка, где мы купили два комплекта ортопедических ботинок, которые были доставлены двум пожилым людям из Новоазовска.

  

На следующий день, 10 мая, мы начали гуманитарную акцию в детской кардиологической больнице в г. Донецке- доставили финансовую помощь в размере 3.000 евро и тем самым, профинансировали покупку конкретного медицинского материала для проведения трех сложнейших операций на сердце у троих детей. Кроме того, в больнице мы посетили объекты и лично смогли убедиться в полном отсутствии большинства медицинских ресурсов. В нескольких палатах мы видели детей, которых сопровождали родственники. В зависимости от размера палаты, там может находиться от 2 до 4 детей и один сопровождающий на каждого ребенка. Главврач кардиологического отделения сказал нам, что больница очень нуждается в адекватных батареях для дефибрилляторов.

После посещения мед.центра и не теряя ни минуты, мы перешли к выполнению второй части нашей миссии, которая включала в себя поездку к многодетной семье из города Харцизка, расположенного в 20 км к востоку от Донецка, для доставки этой семье продуктов питания. Спасаясь от преследований на украинской стороне, эта семья укрывается в помещениях, преобразованных под жилье, бывшего санатория и предназначенного для беженцев.

Во время нашего пребывания, мы воспользовались возможностью поговорить с местными жителями об их жизни. Самые пожилые- те, кто еще помнит пережитую в детстве войну, несомненно, опечалены и подавленны ситуацией- ужас, пережитый в детстве, вновь вернулся в их жизнь. Та война и эта чем-то схожи- ведь даже такое сражение, как за Саур Могилу, вновь повторилось. Эти старики помнят, какое трудное было то послевоенное время, когда все было разрушено и, чтобы вернуться к нормальной жизни, нужно было в течение многих лет восстанавливать страну. В тоже время, для самых молодых, (некоторые из них даже проходили обучение в странах Западной Европы) очень печально наблюдать то, как Европа обесценила мирную жизнь- ведь даже молодые европейцы постоянно говорят о войне. Между тем, Донбасс продолжает жить в условиях войны, с постоянными артобстрелами, которые, в большинстве своем, происходят в ночное время суток чтобы никто не смог заснуть. Из-за ночных обстрелов и стараха прямого попадания бомбы в родной дом, люди всегда спят в подвалах и этот ежедневный кошмар- результат навязанной извне войны, которая развязанна в интересах правителей США и их «союзников» из ЕС. Цель- взять под свой контроль всю Украину. Для жителей Донбасса, весь этот ужас войны- реален и присутсвует ежедневно. Но мы- те кто живет за пределами Донбасса, в частности и в Западной Европе, сожалеем о том, что здесь, под мирным небом, мы не ценим ту мирную жизнь о которой так мечтают жители на Донбассе.

Вот так прошла наша первая гуманитарная поездка на Донбасс- с ограниченными ресурсами, но с сильной волей чтобы помочь, в силу наших возможностей, там где это необходимо и единственное в чем мы можем быть уверены, так это в том, что пока эта навязанная из вне война не окончится, мы снова вернемся с помощью и поможем еще большему числу нуждающихся людей. 

Our First Humanitarian Visit To Donbass

The humanitarian organizations Vostok Solidaridad Donbass from Spain and Ouest-Est from France commenced a joint humanitarian mission to Donbass during 9-10 May focusing on Donetsk and several nearby towns. Our impression when we first arrived in Donetsk was that we were in an absolutely normal city, just like any other place with over one million inhabitants, because there were open shops everywhere and people casually strolling around on the streets. Several kilometres away, however, the landscape was totally different, and we began to see damaged or destroyed buildings as well as barricades and security checkpoints.

We didn’t have any time to get familiar with downtown Donetsk because we were busy preparing for our first mission to the frontlines roughly 50 kilometres away, which would take us to the little village of Zaitsevo, located right next to the city of Gorlovka. The first thing that we noticed once we got there were the incessant artillery attacks which we heard all the time and the signs which warned us not to step off of the road for fear of walking into a minefield. We must point out that we arrived at a very special time, since 9 May is celebrated as Victory Day in Russia, Ukraine, and other countries in this part of the world. They commemorate the end of the Second World War, which is a heartfelt memory for many of them because most people lost at least one relative at that time. In total, roughly 26 million Soviet citizens perished in the war, the largest amount for any European country by far.  

Following the local tradition, we paid a visit to the village elders who were old enough to have experienced that war first-hand, and unfortunately were once again reliving the same horrible scenario from their youth many decades ago. At first we expected that it would be a routine event – we’d gift them a flower, wish them a good day, and donate one thousand roubles – but we soon saw that the raw reality of war overcame anything that we could have anticipated.

With each passing visit, we came to realize more and more just how hard of a situation it is for the elderly people caught up in this warzone. Most of them either live alone or with a few of their relatives in homes which usually lacked electricity, water, or gas. This is because such supplies are commonly cut off during war as the infrastructure networks get destroyed. In addition, many of the people who we saw were suffering from some kind of medical problem which either impeded their mobility or required many medications, hence why we donated one thousand rubles so that they could buy what they need. Without this, and considering their very low pensions, they might not be able to regularly afford the food and medicine which they need to survive during this tough time of war.

Each old veteran presented us with both sad and happy memories. On the one hand, it was sorrowful to see where and how they live, yet on the other, it filled us with so much joy to see them smile or even cry because they couldn’t believe that people from Spain and France would visit them in this desperate time and place and give them a flower and a small donation for economic help. Although this action might seem insignificant or unimportant, something which could scarcely change anything in the larger dynamics of the war, it really had an enormous impact, both on the old people whom we visited and on ourselves. I don’t want to evoke clichés or sentimentalism, but it’s heart-breaking when you personally see people in such sorry situations, yet at the same time also so sincerely grateful for the unexpected help which we provided during our visit.

Once we were done visiting the elderly, we were led to a school in Zaitsevo. It’s not really a school anymore, but a frontline soldier’s position for the Donetsk People’s Republic, and we were allowed to enter into one of the many trenches which both sides dug throughout the course of this war. Once you set foot in them, you can’t help but wonder whether you’re still in Europe. It’s a peculiar feeling to realize that the whole reason why the ancient relic of trench warfare has come back to the continent is because European and North American leaders supported this war in the first place, hypocritically talking about peace and human rights while simultaneously encouraging this conflict because it advanced their business interests.

The day ended back in Donetsk, where we went to an orthopaedic material shop and bought two walkers which were delivered to Novoazovsk, a coastal town in the Republic, for two senior citizens who needed them.

On the next day, 10 May, we began our humanitarian activity in the Children’s Cardiology Hospital of Donetsk, where we delivered €3,000 worth of special medical materials which allowed the doctors to perform complex heart operations on three of their young patients. While there, we were able to visit the hospital’s facilities and were able to personally confirm that they’re severely lacking in the required resources. Some of the rooms had several children in them, around 2-4, each of which were accompanied by a relative, so it was clear to see that overcrowding is an issue. Finally, the doctor in charge of this cardiological section told us how they’re also lacking proper batteries for defibrillators, among other necessities.

Without wasting a second, we then immediately departed on our second humanitarian mission for the day which took us to the town of Khartsysk around 20 kilometres east of Donetsk. During this visit, we bought and delivered foodstuff to a family with 5 daughters, the eldest of which also has a son. This family fled persecution in Ukraine and found refuge in Donetsk, where they now live in the rooms of a former sanatorium which have been reconverted to accommodate displaced people like them.

Moreover, we also spoke with the local population during our time there and asked them how they live and feel. The oldest people who remember World War II from their childhood are, without a doubt, the saddest and most disheartened because of this situation since the nightmare of their earlier years has suddenly returned and once again tormented them for the past 3 years and counting. This war is very similar to the previous one, and even has some of the same historical battlefields such as Saur Mogila. These elderly people also remember how hard it was after the war ended, when everything was destroyed and it took a while to return life back to its normal state.

On the other hand, the youngest generation, even those who had studied in Western European countries, feel a deep sadness in seeing how this part of the continent forgot about its recent history of wars. They feel that these Europeans don’t appreciate the significance of living in peace, and it’s sadly ironic to them how Western youth constantly speak about entering into wars.

Meanwhile, people are living in the middle of a war in Donbass, with never-ending artillery attacks, mainly at night, always waking them up or forcing them to sleep in their basements just in case their home gets bombed. This daily terror is the product of an externally imposed war being waged to promote the interests of the US and its EU “allies” whose rulers want to take Ukraine under their control. This wartime terror is something which the people of Donbass always have on their mind, and they regret that those outside of their home region – and especially people living in Western Europe – don’t appreciate the peace that they now have, which is something that the Donbass people yearn to experience.

This concluded our first humanitarian visit to Donbass, where we came with limited resources but had a solid will to help as much as we could where it was needed the most. The only thing that we’re sure of is that we will come back with more help and for as many people as possible, and that we will continue doing so until this imposed war is finished.

Intervención de Enrique en Cadena Ibérica, hablando sobre la misión humanitaria que realizó en Donbass la semana pasada, en la cual se aproxima al lado más humano de este conflicto bélico, silenciado de manera casi sistemática en todos los principales medios de comunicación occidentales. 

Así mismo, abordó junto con los demás participantes en el debate, las causas y motivaciones tras la creación de conflictos como en Donbass, pero no solo allí, sino en otros lugares a lo largo y ancho del planeta. Conflictos que ponen los intereses económicos de unas élites gobernantes concretas por encima de las vidas humanas, por encima de los derechos humanos supuestamente propugnados por dichas élites.

Pero aún queda más de la misión humanitaria que contar para el próximo día...

Primer viaje humanitario a Donbass

Durante los días 9 y 10 de mayo, las organizaciones humanitarias Vostok Solidaridad Donbass desde España y Ouest-Est desde Francia realizamos conjuntamente una misión humanitaria en Donbass, concretamente en Donetsk y varias poblaciones del entorno. Nuestra primera impresión al llegar a Donetsk fue que estábamos en una ciudad absolutamente normal, con comercios abiertos y gente en las calles, en definitiva, el trasiego habitual de una ciudad con más de un millón de habitantes. Pero, moviéndonos unos kilómetros, el paisaje cambiaba totalmente, y empezaban a verse edificios dañados o destruidos, así como barricadas y blocaos custodiados por soldados.

Ya que íbamos a contrarreloj y no podíamos gastar ni un segundo en conocer el centro de la ciudad, nos dispusimos a realizar nuestra primera misión en pleno frente de guerra, en el pequeño pueblo de Zaitsevo, adyacente a la ciudad de Gorlovka, a unos 50 kilómetros dirección norte desde la ciudad de Donetsk. Allí, en el sitio menos recomendable por los constantes ataques de artillería (que escuchábamos cada poco), con carteles advirtiendo del terreno minado y por tanto, que nadie pisara fuera de la carretera, allí estuvimos, a unos pocos metros de los combates. Hay que señalar que el 9 de mayo no es un día cualquiera en países como Rusia o Ucrania (entre otros). El 9 de mayo celebran el día de la victoria, el día del final de la segunda guerra mundial, que es una guerra muy sentida en la memoria de rusos, ucranianos y de tantos otros pueblos de la entonces existente Unión Soviética, ya que la guerra causó 26 millones de muertos y la mayoría de familias tiene cuanto menos un familiar muerto en aquella guerra.

De modo que, siguiendo la tradición local de cada 9 de mayo, fuimos a visitar a todos los ancianos que vivieron aquella guerra, y que desgraciadamente, ahora vuelven a revivir los mismos escenarios bélicos de su juventud. Al principio, todo parecía que serían simples visitas, casi procedimentales, puesto que la acción constaba de tres partes: Regalar una flor, felicitar el día, y donar mil rublos, pero pronto vimos que la cruda realidad superaba cualquier previsión.

Con cada visita nos dábamos cuenta de la dificultosa situación de las personas que allí viven, especialmente los más ancianos, ya que vivían solos, o acompañados por dos o tres familiares, en viviendas que frecuentemente carecían de electricidad, agua, o gas, pues al ser zona de guerra, era habitual que el suministro se cortase por la destrucción de cualquiera de esas redes. Además, muchos de estos ancianos sufrían algún tipo de problema médico que les impedía la movilidad, o bien necesitan numerosas medicinas, de ahí que a cada uno le donásemos mil rublos con los que pudieran comprar aquello que necesitaran, pues con sus exiguas pensiones no siempre les era posible comprar medicamentos y alimentos, no ya para vivir, sino para simplemente sobrevivir en aquella zona de guerra.

Cada anciano veterano era una historia triste y alegre. Triste por ver dónde y cómo vivían, y alegre por ver cómo sonreían o incluso lloraban porque les parecía absolutamente increíble que en tal día, en tal lugar, llegaran a visitarles desde España y Francia para regalarles una flor y darles una ayuda económica. Y aunque esta acción parezca insignificante o intrascendente, que apenas cambiará algo de aquel escenario bélico, si tuvo un gran impacto, tanto en aquellos ancianos a los que visitamos, como en nosotros mismos. No es por caer en tópicos o sensiblerías, pero se te rompe el corazón por ver personalmente semejante situación, y por el agradecimiento tan sincero que recibes por esta acción inesperada.

Tras acabar de visitar a los ancianos, nos llevaron hasta una escuela en Zaitsevo. En realidad, hoy día ya no es una escuela sino una posición de soldados de Donetsk en primera línea del frente. Allí pudimos ver y entrar en una trinchera. Una trinchera de muchas que hay excavadas a ambos lados del frente en esta guerra. Cuando estábamos pisando el suelo de la trinchera no podíamos dejar de pensar que estábamos en Europa, metidos en una trinchera de otra nueva guerra propiciada por los mismos dirigentes de países, tanto de la Unión Europea como de Norteamérica, que siempre se llenan la boca hablando de paz y derechos humanos, pero en realidad solo les interesan sus negocios, y la guerra es uno de esos negocios en su propiedad.

Finalmente, el día terminó de vuelta en Donetsk, en una tienda de material ortopédico donde compramos dos andadores para que fueran entregados en Novoazovsk, una población costera de Donetsk, para dos ancianos que los necesitaban.

Al día siguiente, el 10 de mayo, comenzamos la acción humanitaria en el Hospital cardiológico infantil de Donetsk, para entregar una ayuda económica por valor de 3.000 euros con la que costear la compra del material médico específico para realizar tres complejas operaciones de corazón a tres niños allí ingresados. Así mismo, pudimos visitar las instalaciones del hospital y realmente pudimos constatar la falta de recursos allí existente. En las pocas habitaciones existentes se encontraban ingresados varios niños y un familiar que les acompañaba. Según el tamaño de las habitaciones, podía haber 2 o 4 niños y un familiar por cada niño. Finalmente, el doctor responsable de esta sección cardiológica infantil nos indicó que también carecen de baterías adecuadas para los desfibriladores, entre otras necesidades.

Sin perder un segundo, partimos hacia la segunda misión humanitaria del día, ya que debíamos salir de la ciudad de Donetsk para ir a una población cercana, Jartsisk (a unos 20 km al este de Donetsk). En esta ocasión, compramos y entregamos alimentos una familia de 5 hijas, cuya hija mayor a su vez tiene un hijo. Esta familia huyó de la persecución en el otro lado de la línea de guerra, y ahora viven en unas habitaciones de un antiguo sanatorio, reconvertido en alojamiento para desplazados por la guerra.

Además, durante nuestro tiempo allí, también aprovechamos para hablar con la población local, acerca de cómo vive y cómo se siente. Los más ancianos que recuerdan la guerra en su niñez, son sin lugar a dudas los más tristes y abatidos por esta situación, ya que la pesadilla de su infancia, de repente regresó, y en ella viven desde hace 3 años. Así mismo, esta es una guerra muy similar en sus formas, que incluso repite campos de batalla como Saur Mogila. E incluso, estos ancianos recuerdan lo duro que fue el tiempo tras la guerra, cuando todo estaba destruido, y pasaron muchos años hasta la vuelta a una vida normal. Por otro lado, los más jóvenes, que incluso habían estudiado en países de Europa occidental, sienten una gran tristeza por ver cómo en esa Europa olvidadiza no valoran lo importante que es vivir en paz, e incluso sus jóvenes hablan constantemente de meterse en guerras, y mientras tanto, en Donbass, viven en medio de una guerra, con constantes ataques de artillería, principalmente nocturnos, que siempre sobresaltan el sueño, o directamente provocan que la gente siempre duerma en sótanos por si acaso una de esas bombas golpea contra su casa. Ese terror diario fruto de una guerra impuesta desde fuera, por los intereses de los gobernantes de los Estados Unidos y sus “aliados” de la Unión Europea para hacerse con el control de Ucrania; ese terror por causa de la guerra, es algo que allí tienen muy presente, y los que han vivido fuera de Donbass, concretamente en esta parte de Europa, lamentan que aquí no valoremos la vida en paz como ellos la anhelan ahora mismo.

Y hasta aquí llegó nuestro primer viaje humanitario a Donbass. Con limitados recursos, pero con la firme voluntad de ayudar tanto como pudiéramos, allí donde más se necesitara. Lo único de lo que podemos estar seguros es que volveremos, con más ayuda, para el mayor número de personas posibles, hasta que acabe esta guerra impuesta.

Kiev reanuda el bombardeo de Donetsk

Las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania reanudaron los bombardeos de Donetsk, informó a los periodistas el subjefe del mando operativo de la autoproclamada República Popular de Donetsk (RPD), Eduard Basurin.

"Las fuerzas de Ucrania vuelven a emplear artillería pesada contra los barrios residenciales de Donetsk, a partir de las 16:10 horas fueron disparados más de 50 proyectiles proscritos por los acuerdos de Minsk y pese a que nosotros cumplimos plenamente el alto el fuego", dijo.

Según el militar, la escalada actual busca "acusar a las repúblicas autoproclamandas [de Donetsk y Lugansk] y a Rusia" para pedir más dinero de sus "patrones occidentales" y, además, podría estar relacionada con los resultados de la reciente conversación telefónica entre Trump y Poroshenko.

Al mismo tiempo, Basurin denunció "la concentración de fuerzas y equipos bélicos en la línea de separación para una ofensiva". Asimismo, acusó a las autoridades de Kiev de "efectivamente rechazar los acuerdos de Minsk en cuanto a la retirada de equipos pesados".

"Registramos la concentración de las fuerzas enemigas en la línea de contacto con el fin de crear un grupo de ataque. A la planta del coque de Avdéevka fueron trasladados de Kramatorsk dos complejos de misiles Tochka-U, otros seis se desplegaron en la localidad de Novobajmutovka en una estación de tren", señaló.

De acuerdo con Basurin, fueron registrados el traslado de una división de artillería antitanque a la zona de Donetsk y Mariupol, el traslado de 92ª brigada desde la provincia ucraniana de Járkov, así como el desplazamiento de tres batallones de la unidad nacionalista Azov en la ciudad de Mariupol.
